The most recent version 1709 has the latest OS build update of 16299.371. This was released on April 10th, 2018. It can be got through the KB4093112 update. We earlier had 1703, 1607, 1511 version updates. Generally you can update Windows 10 to the latest version, using the in-built tool in Settings.
But sometimes after the download is complete, Windows 10 throws a message that you need to restart. Even though you do it, it will go into a recursive loop. The solution to this error code 0x80070bc2 can be done as below.
- Right-click on Windows key and select Command Prompt (Admin).
- Type the following commands in Command Prompt window. To execute them, press Enter after each one. SC config wuauserv start= autoSC config bits start= autoSC config cryptsvc start= autoSC config trustedinstaller start= auto
- Finally, restart your PC and try to install the update that was previously returning the 0x80070bc2 error.

I tried the Windows update troubleshooter, but it failed to resolve the problem. So I think the above commands are the best way to resolve error 0x80070bc2.
